This painting was inspired by Robert De Niro’s character in the movie Taxi, which was released in 1976. It’s a head shot of the character he plays named, “Travis Bickle”. I tried incorporate Francis Bacon’s dark gritty style into the painting while using some cool colors in the face. This portrait of him is more abstract than the first one.
